The UK currently has 39 active trade agreements with countries around the world. Accessing the benefits of these agreements can often be complex and requires time to work with both suppliers and customers to ensure the benefits are felt within the supply chain.
At Brightfinch we can help you understand if you are getting the most out of the UKs trade agreements whether you are importing, exporting, processing or trading in such goods.
CEPA builds on the EU–Japan deal with extra digital and services wins for UK traders. Imports can use statements on origin or importer’s knowledge—the latter has specific documentary expectations (production info, materials lists, etc.).
This agreement allows for the splitting of shipments, meaning it may be possible to also re-export goods into other markets.
Tip: automotive and textiles have tight PSRs—double-check before relying on supplier statements.
