Which freeport approval do you need?

This approval is designed for a port or dedicated secure trade zone or inland depot, where customers can access the customs benefits by then obtaining individual freeport special procedure authorisations. 

Freeport customs sites must have approval from the wider freeport, and be based within the published geographic area. 

If your business is operating in an area which is a Freeport Customs Site, you can apply for a freeport special procedure authorisation. This gives you access to the benefits of both inward processing and customs warehousing under one approval, and also allows simplified entry and removal customs declarations to reduce clearance admin and costs.
